Huntington Beach Vacations
If you think of Huntington Beach vacations, you may not know it, but you have landed at the heart of Surf City USA..! It's probably fair to say that if surfing does nothing for you, then Huntington Beach vacations may not be right for you, because they didn't get the Surf City USA brand for nothing...
It was 1963 when the Jan & Dean song 'Surf City' exploded across the pop charts, and from then on Huntington was always able to claim to be the spiritual home of US surfing. Dean Torrance from Jan & Dean still lives there.
The US Open of surfing is held there, which is the biggest in the world. So is the surfing Hall of Fame, the Walk of Fame, and the International Surf Museum. The US surf team is based there and so is Surfing America, which is the governing body in the country.
So you can see that the place can back up its' claims!
If you go there for a holiday, you can expect to be surrounded by the surfing culture. Young people, yes, but not just young people. Surfers get to ripe old ages, and many people enjoy the culture of surfing without ever having been on a board! It's the relaxed chilled out vibe which draws people to that way of living, and it's certainly reflected in the holidays on offer there.
The beach is 8 and a half miles of white sand, and it won't surprise you to read that surfing takes up most of it!
Of course being on the California coast, Huntington is ideally placed to be a base from which you can venture to all sorts of other destinations, so if you aren't going for the actual surfing, you can spend your days traveling for your visits, and return to Huntington at night for that beach life evening environment.
To be fair, there are also plenty of other things to do in Huntington. These range from beach volleyball to paintballing, both of which have global events held at Huntington. There are free summer concerts and offshore Grand Prix - still likely to appeal to the surfing crowd, but not exclusive to them by a long way.
So to sum up, if surfing isn't your thing, then Huntington Beach vacations may not be the choice for you, but if that laid back surf music type feel is what you want, then this is the place to go!
