Nearby Sydney benefitted from the 2000 Olympics in a way that perhaps no other city has. It truly developed long lasting benefits, and the appeal it generated was unsurpassed - it did such a good job of hosting the Games that everyone kept the association between fun and Sydney.

Of course the harbor is a tourist spot of huge proportions, with both the bridge and the opera house being icons recognized the world over.
